02/05/2024 Munich Giesecke+Devrient

Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) today announces the composition of a new Management Board. With effect from yesterday, May 1, Ralf Wintergerst continues as Group CEO, and Jan Thyen succeeds Peter Zattler as Group CFO, while Gabriel von Mitschke-Collande steps into the newly created role of Chief Digital Officer (CDO) for the G+D Group.

The SecurityTech provider G+D can look back on a highly successful fiscal year. In 2023, the company set new heights and for the first time reached the three-billion-euro sales mark (+18% compared to the previous year). The successful strategy and transformation of the company continues with this reorganization of the management team. For the first time, it consists of a trio of managers who as a strong unit will be jointly responsible for the further development of G+D.

While Ralf Wintergerst (61), continues to hold the position of Group CEO, Jan Thyen (53) yesterday assumed leadership of G+D Group’s finance department. He succeeds Group CFO Peter Zattler (65), who has held this position since 2001 and is retiring. Jan Thyen previously worked as CFO in the Mobile Security division and as Head of Strategy at G+D, and has been with the security technology group since 2010.

The new Group Chief Digital Officer (CDO), Gabriel von Mitschke-Collande (39), who was also appointed yesterday, previously held various management positions at BayWa AG, most recently as CDO. He holds a degree in business administration and is a member of the sixth generation of the owner family. With his expertise and experience, he will continue to drive forward the digital transformation at G+D, both strategically and operationally.

"Jan Thyen and Gabriel von Mitschke-Collande are both experienced experts and highly qualified managers who will strengthen G+D's management team," said Prof. Klaus Josef Lutz, Chairman of G+D's Supervisory Board. "Together with our Group CEO Ralf Wintergerst, they form a strong team that will continue G+D's success story. With this management team, we are ideally positioned for the further transformation of G+D."

Ralf Wintergerst, Group CEO of G+D, says: "I am looking forward to working with my two new, experienced colleagues. With our combined expertise and joint commitment, we will focus on the next phase of the company's successful development."
